In Selling You've Got to Lead to Succeed: Make Your Mark

What sets you apart?

In sales, you need to differentiate yourself from the pack. You can't rely on your company's brand or the products you represent. You need to stand out on your own.

Why? Because buyers expect no less. Buyers have become very discerning and protective of their time. They won't take an appointment with a seller who doesn't merit their time and attention. They won't buy from a seller who doesn't engage and inspire them. Are you that seller?

If you're doing what every other seller does, the answer is "no." You may be doing it better or doing it more... But that doesn't differentiate you. It doesn't make you unique. Instead, it magnifies the fact that you're a seller.

Leaders, unlike sellers, have a point of view that is unique and interesting. They rally people around them because they show others how their own interests can be realized if they enlist in the leader's vision.

Leaders, unlike sellers, captivate their audiences with stories and pictures about the exciting possibilities of the future.

Leaders, unlike sellers, enable people and infuse them with confidence. They encourage them, even when there is a risk involved.

Being a leader will help you make your mark. It will distinguish you from other sellers. It will get you in the door, and it will help you make more sales. Step into your role as a leader and stop trying so hard to be like every other seller.
