Welcome to the newly named (but not so new) blog now called CONNECT2SELL.
Although the name has evolved, this theme has remained constant. I'm certain this new name is the right name. This is the way the blog should have been named from the beginning.
Sure, it's always been a blog about how to advance the sale and increase your numbers. It has also always been about the expedition every salesperson goes on as they journey toward the goal.
The problem with the first two titles is this: neither title really captured the essence of this blog and how it's different from all the other sales blogs out there.
CONNECT2SELL, the new name, does accomplish that. Like everything else we do here at People First Productivity Solutions, this blog aims to help people get connected. In this case, the people we are hoping to help connect are sellers with their buyers.
That's why our blogs focus so intently on the skills of interpersonal relationships, building rapport and trust, truly understanding the needs of the customer and solidifying the buyer/seller connection.
Our past titles for the blog have been implying that it's okay to put the proverbial cart before the horse. The former name, Advance the Sale, could seem to some that we advocated starting in the middle of the sales process and pushing to the next step. That's not true, in theory or in practice.
So we are backing it up. In order to sell, you have to connect. That's not only a simple truth, it's a powerful and profound approach to being effective as a seller. By renaming the blog CONNECT2SELL, our hope is that sellers who follow this blog will continually be reminded not to take shortcuts in making a connection.
If you are interested in advancing the sale, the very best thing you can do to make that happen is to connect. So we believe this is the right title to express what we stand for and what sellers can do to open and then close more sales.
You'll find the same great content, voices and help for practical selling skills that you always have. But now, they'll just be titled in a more appropriate fashion. Hopefully, this also reminds you that we have a whole host of other resources that involve connecting with people.
There's the CONNECT! Online Radio Show for Selling Professionals. That's where we tackle your toughest selling challenges and help you to cut out continuances, put an ending to pending and stop stalling out. It's a program where so many incredible, insightful guests from the sales community come on air live to share tips and techniques to help you sell better by connecting to your buyer with more impact.
There's also the CONNECT! Community. It's a group of people, like you, who are continually striving to improve the ways that they connect with others. We have a LinkedIn group, a Facebook page, a newsletter, podcasts, webinars and more. You can find access to any of these on our website.
For anyone (in sales or not), there is also our CONNECT2LEAD blog. It's about the importance of connecting in order to lead more effectively. Leading includes influencing others and positioning yourself as someone who ought to be followed. Everything we write about in this blog could be helpful, too, in selling.
